Educational importance of the given images
The picture above is in Nangka Choling campus in Paro. This place depicts the agricultural life style of people living in this area. Villagers here are mostly dependent on growing rice and potatoes. During summer time the seeding of rice in bed takes place in March and April. Then the transplanting of rice takes place from May. We see farmers harvesting the wheat in October.
During cultivating season farmers make water channels for the paddy field. Staying near such environments teach us how to grow rice with real life context of learning. We don’t have to learn from texts about how farmers cultivate rice. By looking at the farmers working in fields we can come to know about the time taken by the farmers in growing rice. Moreover, it helps us to be grateful and value the rice on our plate.
